Snippet from my forthcoming novel, the Minerva Dragons:

'Steele had walked for a little over ten minutes when he spotted the BMW, parked in an open-fronted yard off a wide but quiet suburban street. At first only its front was visible, the rest of it hidden behind some kind of showroom, but as he approached the rest of it came into view, and he saw that the bootlid was fully open on its modified hinges, and a hand-powered hydraulic hoist was hoisting the cargo out of the back. Two off-road trucks were parked behind it, one a light blue doorless SUV, one an open-backed pickup painted white, into which the crate was being loaded.

Steele stopped to take in the scene before approaching any closer. The trucks were clearly modified for off-road duty – huge chunky tyres squidged onto the dusty concrete as if they ran very low pressures; suspension struts were visible in the large gap between tyre and arch. Three men stood around the vehicles, one operating the hoist, one guiding the crate into position, one talking to Elana, who wore her tight black trousers and halter-top and slouched against the back of the BMW as if moulded to it.'

RC is a huge inspiration in my creative life, and I've gathering a huge collection of cars that feature in my next novel. This Chevy is driven by some as-yet-unnamed henchmen who have been hired escort Elana and her precious cargo over the mountains.

I've had this truck for ages, got in a trade from LUKE, although I don't know who originally built it. I take no credit for any of the work. It's had a lot of work put into it, very well painted and detailed.

I don't know if it's a Twin Det, Wild Dagger, Dualhunter or whatever, but it's been modded with TL01 suspension arms and various minor adjustments. I don't know what motors are in but it pulls well on the dirt. Originally it came fitted with TLT wheels and tyres, but I thought they looked a bit too OTT, so I fitted some deep-dish HPI rims and Hummer tyres. There's enough clearance for a chunkier set of proper soft off-road tyres, so I might revisit that later.

I've got another WD chassis in the loft, so maybe sometime I'll make another twin-motor scaler to go with this one.

Neat, scale-looking truck Full interior and rollcage Subtle scale decals, hi-lift jack, tow chain Spare tyre no longer matches the 19' rims
