The Minerva Dragons - Vic Stanton's Impreza

Extract from my forthcoming novel, The Minerva Dragons:

“OK, OK! Two K buy-in, winner takes all, and my respected associate Winslow will be holding the money until the race is complete.” Steele cast a glance at Winslow, a middle-aged man in a cheap blue suit who managed to make Deano look unthreatening. He stood square with his arms crossed and his face stony blank, with a briefcase on the concrete between his shiny black shoes. “Furthermore, my wholly licenced and respected company will be taking bets right up until the flag drops.” Steele rolled his eyes. Surely there was no such thing as a licenced gambling agent in Minerva any more, not with the mafia involvement and the complete and obvious buyout of the police after the last economic crash. “And so to your racers tonight! At evens we have the straight favourite, Vic Stanton, in the grey Impreza! At two-to-one in the white Toyota Supra, Deano Tomaz! The newcomer, Lee Taggart, comes in at four-to-one with his untested Honda Integra, and everyone’s outside chance, at a thoroughly tempting ten-to-one, is Steele Walker’s antique Datsun. So put your hands in your pockets and show us where your allegiance lies! Flag drops in five minutes. Racers, start your engines!”

A leading favourite in the Minerva street-racing scene, this car was bought from Ebay almost as-is. The only change I've made is to add the gold 6-spoke rims. It's a TB02 chassis underneath, but I don't know what shell it originally came with. The previous owner built it for the shelf and never ran it.

Sometimes I look at this car and think it's just another ugly Impreza taking up shelf space; then I look again and think it's a great example of an iconic Japanese performance car, and my novel is all about a street-racing scene surrounding iconic Japanese performance cars. So it stays!
