I have many thanks to announce for making this truck possible. Firstly the original owner had made this the aerodyne with the night time sleeping area and windows, he had done the grill and made it look decent. I stripped it all back and realised that I was going to have to use new headlights as the originals were cracking easily (not easy as they were all bespoke). The direction i was going never faltered. I wanted BJ and the Bear's truck from the 80's TV show.

Painting was done by Monty, many thanks mate and the custom stickers by no other than the very talented stickerbod (he made them from a picture off the original show). Huge thanks fellas.

No pics of the back as in my excitement at getting the body back from Monty I forgot about it and disposed of loads of boxes that afternoon at the tip- including the piece. I did go back and fished around the garbage but it was too late. If anyone has a Globe back panel please let me know.

The truck is right hand drive and I can't really see the point in changing this, although not 100% accurate to BJ.

The truck runs a full MFC01 set up.

I have always wanted this exact truck and combine hours spent on this between the original owner, Monty and me must be 100 hours +.

Still not finished but couldn't wait any longer to share with you all.

Happy New Year.

Thanks so much fellas, really appreciate the kind words. MAVERICK if anything you are to blame for this for that Smokey and the Bandit truck you did. Inspired me it did and yes it was Paul from Lancashire. There was nothing wrong with the truck before, it was already great which kind of makes this whole project even more insane.

That looks awesome, shame about the back, I bet someone will help you out soon. I just saw and episode of 'American Trucker' not long ago that featured the restoration of the real rig from the show. I think the host has a few screws loose in his brain, but the cool old trucks he seems to find are nice. He did a show on Evil Knievel's special rig with his office in it, it was in sad shape, but I think it will be undergoing restoration soon.

Absolutely has to be the best Tamiya truck I have ever seen. What an icon. B.J & the bear was the TV show going in it's time. Great work.

Hi Felix, I haven't left a comment for years now. But I feel I must congratulate you on this truck, I just love it to death! One of the best models that I've seen here on TC for a very long time. I can hear the theme tune in my head as I write this!
