The Real Thing! Number One!
This NIB kit turned up at a local trading site. Considering that generally these are very rare and hard to find it's hard to believe that I had to pick it up only a few kilometres away from my home! The special thing about this US/English kit is that it has a white body instead of the standard green one. I knew that Japanese versions where outfitted with the white body. So in this configuration this kit may be even rarer and there is only another one on TC. I am really glad to have it in my collection.

Michael, a good loook at the parts tells me this is a very early export kit (pre green body). Another key part to look at is the battery boxes. Are they white plastic? If so, very few early kits had these before going to the standard black ones....

Thanks for your nice comments mates.
Yes Tim, battery boxes are white. Thanks for sharing your knowledge on Tamiya history.
Und Michael, hab auch ein paar Tage überlegt bis ich mein Konto leergeräumt habe. Ich denke so ein Teil findet man nicht sehr oft. Vor allem hierzulande.

Very nice, would it have a wire bumper for the front only or also a plastic bumper?? I don't know how many early cars used a plastic bumper, but I found one over the last hobby shop raid and I have seen a black one noted, but not a white one yet.

The kit actually contains the chromed wire bumper.
