Willy's got a new ride so I had to have one :)
The kit had 'bonus parts' - 8 1150 bearings, whoopee! It's (kind of) interesting to note that there are serarate manuals for chassis and body. Maybe Tamiya are planning more releases on this chassis?
I didn't like the way it looked with the kit wheels and tyres so I swapped them for some Ansmann 'on road' buggy wheels/tyres. They're 12mm hex fitting so I used the TL01 knuckles and some spare drive shafts, also had to shorten the steering links.
The smaller tyres meant I could mount the body lower - at least now it looks like the body and chassis almost meet! I'm thinking about making some inner arches to fill the remaining gaps.
But it's a nice little kit and I'm pleased with it. Oh, and the driver is the original Wheeler mould, it says 1983 (I think) on the sprue.

Looks great, and I guess to some people knowing the driver is the same as the original Wheeler mold is good news! I just got a body set in the mail recently, as I already have 2 of the WW2 chassis. I plan something else with mine though... dunno what yet! You're certainly looks like a lot of fun though!

Oh man, where have I been that the VW Samba body has been out for over two years??? I hope I get one before they are all gone.
