Tamiya Hornet buggy action
Not really to interesting but I have not had a Hornet in quite awhile since I sold my green one a few years ago. So I Picked this up on Tamiyausa as a Scratch & dent with box damage for cheap and built it up quick as a fun runner. Painted silver with some quick detail work then go play with it. I had forgotten just how insanely fast these things are with the stock motor, I might have to tone it down to a 35t like I did my last Hornet to keep it on its tires better. Regardless I snapped a few pics while I tooled it around in my cousins horse corral good fun ;)

One of the worst Tamiya chassis ever, I absolutely loved mine!
Great build, and nice shots, as always.

What a stance and two wheeled action, how could you not love the no nonsense approach to cheap thrills. WHEN do you shop the scratch and dent, I NEVER see these great things pop up, probably because you have already raided the cookie jar.
Grastens
First photo is the perfect box-art pose - a great car being driven as intended!
Wyoming
thanks fellers, Yeah Chris I really raided the cookie jar, I also bought two Hotshots, a RTR black edition Lunchbox, a novafox and the semi box trailer over the past month or so but have not even looked at them yet, just piled them in the future projects

Great pics, can't beat kicking up some dirt!

Oh you are making me cry already, wow, pass some of the goodies onto the rest of us would ya?? I really want to find a deep discount CC-01 chassis vehicle in the scratch and dent, any help???
Mr duke
Wow!!! that first pic belongs in a Tamiya catalogue!!!!! she looks right at home!!!
Wyoming
Even I'm not fast enough to get the CC01s Chris, the buggies sell quick but the scale stuff seems to be gone before they list them, I missed several CC01s and I think they even had a Bruiser awhile back, all I can say is to check the S&D section daily. I only check once or twice a week but if you keep checking you're bound to find something cause I'm completely broke
Crash Cramer
Must be the TIME of day I am checking, I am 2 hours ahead of them at Tamiya, so my first thing in the morning to them, they are not even open yet, and by the end of day for them, I am already eaten dinner and settled in for an evening.

With all its imperfections nothing beats a hornet! Nice pics.

Not really to interesting you said!!! The Hornet in dirt is interesting to me!!
Great pics Seth!
Two Hotshots then mate?
taffer
Some nice looking shots there! Does the matte clear help keep the decals down?
pastimesteve
Great photos Seth! The Hornet is a special little buggy to me as it was my first entry into RC and Tamiya when I was 13. Really enjoyed this entry; thanks Seth!
Wyoming
thanks, yup the ps55 does a good job of sealing the decals and gives the lexan a more realistic look, they also have a gloss clear.

Welcome back to the Hornet's owners club! Love the Matt silver with black wheels, very retro. Love the 1st pic, so typical Hornet wanting to tilt on its side when at full chat on corner...
