Challenger 1(mkr.3) battle tank with diorama.
This is a 1992 Tamiya 1/35 scale Challenger 1 British battle tank desert version. I built this a few years back for a exhibition the total time build is 50 hours and was completed in a month. It's finished in the dessert version and is weathered lightly as its based on a tank with several months service. The camo effect of the figure is a custom finish of where I used a stencil to complete the effect, every item is airbrushed and only the smallest of detailed relied in the use of a model brush. The hardest part was using electrical tape cut in 3mm widths to mask the outer wheels and with twelve in total was pushing my abilities but it was a relief to finish and the end result was worth the strain on the eyes lol.
The base was finished using builders sand I found the sand grain size to work with the scale, that too took a lot of coverage to spray dessert yellow as it soakes paint up like a sponge. I finished the base off with a plate showing the details of the kit this too was airbrushed to give a metal effect.
I hope you enjoys the pics. Thanks for looking.......

Thanks Tamiyamandan, the net cages are held on to the model with double sided tape in very thin strips, glue would have shown up through the netting.
