As projects started to build up and ideas for future projects where building up even faster in my head. Well, I needed help. Time for a workshop and a pit crew.

Now I know I'm not the first to do this. But I tried to give it my own spin on it and personally I'm happy with the result.

So, as said I could really use some help. And inspired by some of the members here like IBIFTKH, JennyMo, Toykid and many others I'm also starting my own Wild Willy pit crew. Bought myself some Wild Willys and some Osbourne action figures. Then started painting them. But he, you can hire help, but first they need some working space with workbenches, storage room and tools.

On Ebay I noticed a add for a 1/10 workshop, so I bought that as it was cheaper than to start from scrats. Unfortunately, it did not survive the shipping to my house really well as you can see on the pictures below. Also it was not really in the good state it was advertised. But I got a refund, so can't complaine there. So, as I already had to repair it, I might as well upgrade it as well.

This (phote with blue workbenches) is wat I started with. Two workbenches, a tire rack, a storage rack and a lot of broken pieces. Some glue, some paint and some wood to make walls and wooden tops on the workbenches. And I made some work of dressing the wall of one of the workbenches.

As for the pitcrew. I tried to make each one differently. I already did that with painting the bodies, but also tried that with the heads.

What you see are 2 Jack Willys. Credits have to go to Jennymo for the idea somewhere in one of her replys or topics in Tamiyaclub forum. But adding glasses sure makes one of them stand out. And a bit different. The way I did it. I used Jacks glasses. Drilled holes tot the side of the head where the ears are supposed to be. After painting the face I added the glasses (painted them to match my own glasses). And glued them in from the back with Tamiya cement. Did that 3 times to build a good layer of glue and make it strong. Carefully added a drop of Tamiya cement between the nose and the middle of the glasses.
And there you have it. A new take on a Jack Wild Willy. My kids think it looks like me because of the glasses and the color of the eyes. So let's call this one Wild Frank. And the other one just Wild Willy.

Then we have 2 more. Wild Ozzie and Wild Kelly. For Kelly I looked for inspiration to the Wild Wendys and Jennymos take on her Wild Kelly. So with the Dremel I made the nose smaller and gave her some cheakbones. Painting did the rest to give her a female look. Wild Ozzie also got a detail done. If you look really good you will notice the chin piece of his helmet is different. I removed the point in it with a Dremel.

It was quite some work, but I think it came out alright. For the painting I used most of the tutorial on this website http://www.tamiyaclub.com/willy.asp and I also cheated a bit by buying a Senna Willy from Rob (Ibiftkh) to learn from the master. Those eyes you paint Rob, briljant!

So here the are, my pitcrew. Now let's start on those builds guys!

Update 11-8-2017: Made some 'stock' for the shelves. Some Smartie mini boxes, paint and some decals and there you have it.

Nice! My HCT could do with a pit crew like this after its latest beach blast! I agree Rob is the man! He painted my Willy & Cornish Willy in my HCT! Brilliant!👍

Thanks for the compliments. It took a while to get the workshop and the pitcrew ready, but it was great fun to do.
