Since the gearing of the TA01/02 is limited to max. 6.44 using the 66T speed gear with the 25 pinion,
the speed isn't that good.

Here's a how to for using pinions up to 29T with the speed gear 66T, which reaches an overall gearing of 5.55 then.

All you need is a dremel, some sand paper or a file.
Just cut the part's shown in the pics.
A table showing all possible gearings is also posted.

Credits goes to my dear friend Alex, who is the inventor of this helpful entry.
He wanted to use his TA02SW Porsche 911 in the Porschecup, but the TA02 was to slow with a gearing of 6.44

dremel those parts as shown here.... to reach a possible gearing of.... max 5.5 using a 66T speed gear with.. a 29T pinion. all possible gearings then

Tamiya #54228 = 26T + 27T pinions
Tamiya #54229 = 28T + 29T pinions
all module 0,6

I lost them. Probably they are new products. I remember that the bigger pinion gear was the 25T. Thanks you!

This is interesting. My TA01 motor mount states the biggest pinion is a 21T not a 25T? Is my TA01 a variation I wonder.

look at the table below. with the standard kit supplied 74T spur gear the biggest possible pinion is 21T. You need the speed gearing for the ta01/02 #53127 with the 69T and 66T spur gears to fit those pinions bleow.

Think I'll try and source these parts for my latest project which happens to have a TA01 chassis. Cheers _miga_
