Very nice. How will the box cope with all that power. I always wanted to something like this ( I have 60 sunroof beetle which needs a rebuild and have a type 3 IRS rear end that I will scavenge to turn the beetle into an IRS rear end. Motor in parts has a 74mm counterweight crank and think displacement will be 1900cc. Old school bug spray central twin barrel carb. Long term project which I won't start for many years to come. plenty of parts but no time.

The transmission was just a rebuilt stock tranny and it has handled the power quite well so far. But I do not get on it hard too often. But it does top out too quick. I need to get a tranny with higher gear ratio. It hits about 100mph really quick but the tranny cant handle any more, so I don't push the envelope.

I believe type 3 1600cc swing axle gearbox has higher ratio gears. You just need to swap swing axles out to your beetle ones.

I have owned it for a little over 9 years now. I got this for my 10 year anniversary gift and my wife got a $6000 diamond ring. LOL
