I have been looking for one of these for a few years now, and eventually one came up on eBay at the right price.
I have just started stripping it down and thought I had a good one but the gearbox case crumbled in my hands and the engine piston and liner were shot, but I'm still happy with it. Kyosho made this lovely CCVT gearbox but the plastic they used for the casing was terrible, but I have managed to repair it by glueing the parts together and making brass threaded sleeves to hold box together as the self tapping screws just shattered the casing. Anyway I have started getting it back together, I have done a lot of work on the suspension as the wishbones were so tight the car was almost rock solid and the bushes on the rear axle were in a bad way. I have made new bushes machined the wishbone mounts so they drop under their own weight, also fitted a set of oil shocks, fronts fine but need some lighter springs on the rear, well still a lot more to do but I will get there

Sounds like a job for 3D printing if you ask me.

Yes I know, Adam (acprc) helped me out with a manual and some info on the gearbox, he sold a 3D printed casing through a place called Shapeways, I have found the site but can't seem to buy or get in contact with them, I have mailed Adam a few times but I know he is moving house and I have not got a reply from him or he just fed up me pestering him 😊 Anyway I hope to get in contact with him soon. Anyone know if you can get the CCVT sticker on the gearbox remade?
Cheers

Just wanted to say if anyone else got anymore info on this car like the way the 4 channel radio is hooked up to the gearbox and is it mixed with the throttle channel or anything else about the car would be deeply appreciated

Very cool and interesting vintage car. I'd love one of these be it the nitro or electric version. Nice one. I too am wondering whats happened to radshape as I cant get hold of them and the website has changed.

Apologies that you feel I'm letting you down, really busy with house move, job changes in the family etc etc. As sent before Shapeways link is [Click here], type CCVT in the search box and the top and bottom halves are the only hits on the site. select the one you want, click Buy Now to add to your basket. Link for the casings is: [Click here] Sticker will peel off and re-glue if in good condition. Mine moved over to the 3D printed box fine.

maybe the case is softening due to old fuel or old grease who penetrate the plastic during some years?
