So I finally finished the re-finishing of my basement this weekend. I convinced my wife that since we have a waterfront house with mostly nautical themes my boats need to be on display. MRP Mr. Pringles, Miss Budweiser, and Bud Light Tunnel Hull. The shelf they are sitting on is actually the old mantel from our old living room fire place just painted white, I saved it after I redid the fireplace and mantel last year. I knew it was a nice piece of wood and would make a great shelf somewhere.

Why I don't have much time for R/C in the summer

Thank you Stingray! It took me about 4 months to re-finish the basement, that's just the game room side. I added another spare bedroom/storage room. The pool table was left buy the sellers. I did a little work to that but still need to have it recovered.

Wow, you have nearly the same fun and games as my father in law does in his basement, but he doesn't have a boat, well aside from the little Futaba RC boat I got him to run in his above ground pool. I won't show him this set of photos as he would DEFINITELY want to come over and take care of that boat of yours. He goes to Annapolis every October for the Powerboat show as his birthday present. I like the 'heritage' beer sign too.

Thanks guys! This is one of the hidden gem subdivisions in suburban Detroit. I think we overpaid because of location. It was an all original estate sale but you can't beat that we the marsh land on the other side of the canal vs other houses. We moved in October 2015 and I have been busting my but with the remodel. Boating is a love/hate thing, I love being on the water but I hate all the maintenance.

I used to work in Warren, Michigan at the GM Tech Center thru ASC. I think I could look you up next time I am in Michigan visiting family if you'd like to chat.

Love it, you had to persuade your wife that there was a need for RC boats but she was ok with the pool table and the speed boat out back lol. Fantastic set up - just need a few more shelves now- have fun

Thanks guys! Doc007, that is the wife's big slow cruiser boat in the back yard. I just pay for it, drive it, and maintain it. I had a Cigarette style boat before for we got married and she didn't like it. The Seadoo's back there are the compromise, still have my need for speed.

Just wanted to say we are not rich. The wife and I both work and we don't have kids and are not going to have any. If we had kids none of this would be possible even with the boat and seadoos being over 20 years old. We give respect to all you out there with kids and what you do and provide for them. Children was just not for us since both of are career driven.

Hey, If I didn't have kids I would probably spend waaay too much on RC stuff..Looks to me like you are keeping things in control on that front. Thanks for the kind words to us that do have little ones to raise. Sometimes I can't believe I still have time for R/C stuff as a busy Dad.

I can't image how much RC stuff I would have if I was single haha! I'm running out of storage space for my RC and I need to figure out what I'm going to sell to help fund and find a place for my new projects. Looks like you were up late working on the RC?
