Hey Guys,

Well, this is my vintage and late 1985 Hotshot. She's been restored with a lot of love and elbow grease. I originally got it from a seller in Missouri and it was apparently kept in garage which led to a lot of brittle plastic and rusty screws.

So, what is original vs. what is re-re? Yes, I did use some re-re parts as I intend to drive it, not necessarily as a runner, but be able to take her out several times a year.

So what is Original?: Entire chassis, all suspension parts, gears and gearboxes, all drive train components, electronics, MSC, resistors, roll cage, upper front suspension arms, hubs, driver, daughter circuit board, sponsor decals, tires, wheels, under chassis components, all screws/metal bits, and lastly the foglights. So, in essence, most of it.

What is re-re?: Front bumper, lower front suspension arms, all rear suspension arms, Body, wing. Tamiya Hotshot graphics are re-re, all sponsor logos are original (Thanks Chris! aka 'Crassh Cramer')

An original Technigold motor is mounted, it's lightly used and pulls wonderfully. She really sings with a gold can.

Currently running it with Futaba 3004 ball bearing servos and 2.4ghz FlySky radio. She'll get the hydrogen peroxide treatment on the wheels this coming summer when the weather warms up and there's a lot more sun!

She was an absolute joy to restore and a sweetheart of a runner. So happy to have it in my collection finally.

Thanks for looking!

OHHHHH SEXY. It is red though, what happened to the black body and wing?? I still think they look great, but now that I have had a look in my garage, I have a black HS body, so hope you build another chassis under that black body. I think it is my monitor, but those front wheels look lighter than the rears.

Hey Chris! Thanks! I do have the original black body, so I do plan on keeping it. It was painted on the outside, so salvaging the decals is not an option. But at least I have it. Gonna try to PS paint removal stuff to see what I can do. The lexan is perfect, but why oh why did the original owner paint the outside????

We will NEVER know, call Leonard Nimoy so he can begin an 'In Search Of' episode on that query. I have had some decent luck with the PS removal liquid, so sure, give it a go, or leave it black and build a bic%'*& runner chassis for it and bash and crash it. I better go out to 'the CAVE' and see if I don't have the makings for such a monster for you, might be a HS2 chassis, but it is of little concern as it will work.

Chris, your eyes aren't fooling you. The front wheels are indeed lighter than the rears, even though they were both NIP vintage. So what I have to is utilize the hydrogen-peroxide treatment on them this summer, when I can get some good weather and a lot more UV light.
