It's been a while since I've posted anything (or done anything) RC related but this one is worth sharing. I really wanted an updated version of the Falcon since this is the car that started it all for me back in 1986 and to be honest Tamiya's attempts fell short of the mark. I started with the DT-03 chassis and modified from there. Frantic Freddie has retired, but his son Frantic Freddie Jr. has taken up the family tradition! Lot's of little mod's to the A- arms and such to make those wheels work and countless hours designing the custom decals but totally worth it. This is how you should show respect for the original while making something for the next generation in my opinion. Anyway, comments are always welcome and let me know how I can make it better! I have to say thanks to Beefmuffin for dragging me back into the hobby!

3 Paying respect to the original! 2 Nice stance! Freddie Jr. at the wheel! 2 2 1 2 1 What the kit looks like. Kind of lacking IMO 2 The inspiration! 1 Think this outside pic Looks better! 1 3 Sample Decal Sheet available from MCIRACING.CA!

Looks fabulous. The Falcon also started it all for me back then. Very nicely done, and a proper way to show respect to the original.

Amazing concept and even more amazing execution, sensei. People may miss the small detail about the totally custom-designed decal sheet made to fit the body. You should post up a pic of just that also... I know I was impressed.

TBH I think the indoor hearth-side, Barry White accompanied budior pics do it more justice. The bright sun and glare wash out the Life-savers-esque stripes, etc.

Last but not least - this will be another fine addition to the Vintage Stype SIG: [Click here]

I always loved the Falcon with its bright colour mix and cool name! and when set up well had a decent enough performance! and feel it's a shame Tamiya never made a Mk 2 or Super Falcon! They made that Neo Falcon but what you have made here is bang on brilliant! Looks fantastic and really could be something Tamiya released as a Falcon ll it's just right!

Thank Klausen, I appreciate it!
Beefmuffin, I agree that the indoor pics looked sweet, but what's done is done. I'll have to post the decal sheet also. Gotta give Nathaniel at MCIRACING.CA two thumbs up for making these decals become a reality!
Thanks Taffer!
Mad-bee, I agree completely, the neo falcon was a turd. I just wanted something that blended the old with the new so the next generation can appreciate the roots!

I want to thank BEEFY for dragging you back as well. Good to see you again Stefan and WOW what a come back. Sure wish I had time to spend with ALL the TC folks en route this summer to my in-laws in Ohio as from the looks and sound of it all, seems all the summer construction will make my driving dismal at best. Oh, well, can always catch up on the internet and perhaps late summer, I might have a second trip to my mom's in MO, so hope we can meet up again, if only for some Taco Bueno.

Chris, just let me know when you get close and we can do lunch!
Scollins- Thanks! Would love to see Tamiya make it a kit. One way to do that is have everyone make one of their own!

The Tamiya Falcon is what got me into the hoby as well and if your Falcon II was released I would buy it straight away! You have also inspired me to do a RC tribute to the Falcon which I may do with one of my next projects.

How could I miss this one? I was 7 years too late with my idea of a retro paint job for my 2nd DT03 body! Funny fact: I stumbled over the 'Falcon 2' sticker set @MCI, and started to think, who made this sticker sheet and for which chassis? The side line of the big stickers reminded me of the super fighter lines, and after some googling I came back to TC in the end! Marvellous job, great rethinking of the Falcon DNA, spot on! Will order your decal set for my body with confidence of your stunning end result! And in addition, I joined the SIG, which I overlooked too, and added my DT03 variation as well! Hats off, so many cool retro jobs on the DT03 in there.

Thanks ruebiracer! I didn't even realize the sticker set was available to the public on MCI! Looking forward to your build. I did have to trim the lower rear a-arms to clear the wheels
