I have this kit for quite some time now- for some unknown reason, i forgot to post about it completely;-)
Despite the name '2000', the Schumacher Cougar 2000 has been introduced in 1993, as a follower of the Cougar Mk.1. At this time, Schumacher stopped the aluminum bathub chassis style and the Cougar newly features a double deck composite layout. as for the correct type of car, it's hard to tell, because Schumacher shortly indroduced 3 sorts of Cougar 2000, which are known as the 93', the 94spec, and the 95spec (which has the narrower XPC Chassis ). According the item number, this kit seen here is either a 93 or a 94 spec. To be honest, i don't know exactly about the differences of the first 2 versions. However, as a Special bonus, somebody added the XPC Chassis plates of the 95 spec, which is not included by factory.
Thanks for looking
Mike

2 2 1 3 Could be 93, or 94 Spec 1 1 3 XPC chassis as a nice bonus ;-)

Hi there, I remember these from when I first started rc racing as a young teenager. From memory, the earlier cars had the solid / dished wheels and later ones had the now well-known Schumacher 3-spokes.
The reason for this was that the dished wheels were prone to breaking around their centres where the bearings located.

Yours sincerely and happy collecting,
Mr Ian J. Farquhar.

Hi Mike, early cars had the alloy drive shafts, normally in red, 94 spec cars like yours came with plastic ones like the Cat 2000

Thanks Jimbo. You're right, i found the telescopic plastic driveshafts in my kit. So definately a 94spec here

I recently sold my old Cougar 2k. I actually upgraded it to have the carbon fibre parts and the Plastic telescopic drive shafts. When I was racing it I never lost. But due to an accident I stopped racing for a bit and now getting back into the scene. Currently have a Cougar KR, Losi TLR-4, and a TLR t that I race. But I still love the Schumacher cars.
