Finally, I have finished a long-term project. This original Fox was waiting a long time for its restoration. I got it as part of an exchange for another model. The car was a runner in relatively good shape.

The body was obviously not painted with the right paint. I removed the paint with 25% nitro-fuel. This went much better than any other paint-remover I tried before. The body was sprayed with subaru-metallic blue. Looks almost like the box-art.

The chassis was at first completely stripped down and worn or defective parts exchanged for new ones (thanks to the re-release of the Novafox). As the shocks were not very good any more they were replaced with some aluminium shocks of unknown origin I had in my box. The springs came from a DT-03 spring set.

All the gears were in very good shape, but covered with some sort of heavy industry lubricant, which could not resist my brake-cleaner treatment. A dab of very light t´Tamiya lubricant and in the gearbox they went again.

The rather worn out standard-motor was exchanged with an old Reedy Gold Star 19T Motor which is controlled by some nameless electronic speedo. and spektrum receiver.

I am not sure on which tires I should use. So I left the original tires on for the first rollout. This took place on the local AMC Langenfeld astro-turf track and boy dis that Fox perform!
I was very pleased with how this oldie performed. My setup worked spot on and the buggy flew around the track with very good acceleration and surprisingly good turn in.

So my Runner for the #Vorem2017 Vintage meeting is ready :)
