Hi all- this HPI body set has been in storage for 3 years and I got tired of moving it around the garage so I busted it out and did the whole thing over the last week, a lot to take on with everything else going on! I was going for a club racer look, and was really excited to try it on this really well proportioned HPI body which sits on top of a mint vintage Associated Dual Sport chassis (built up in March as I sold my 66 Mustang DS) with some mild hop-ups. I added scratch built pieces to support some Tamiya (not sure what part number) red light bucket pieces to make them work for the front end. I used leftover Kyosho lenses from a spare tree of Nostalgic series lamp parts. I really like how it looks with the lamps instead of painted- over covers as the stock body instructs you to do. I also added a tow hook up from made from an electrical eyelet (thanks Truck Norris) and for the first time tried a rear view mirror for the interior of the car. Mirror made from styrene, black graphic paper tape, a zip tie end for the mount and bare metal foil for the mirror portion. Also did an old trick from a long time ago and 'rolled down' the driver window. Some of you may remember I did this on my TLT -Big Bear project over ten years ago. I plan to make a side mirror for the drivers side door at some point. Ditched the HPI decal for the side vents and made them with individual pieces of graphic tape (offered by ABC Hobby fineline tape, Formaline tape, or Chartpak tape). Action shots as soon as I get some 2.4ghz radio gear for it. Enjoy!

That, my friend, is super sexy. I like it and I certainly didn't send the Sunoco Vette your way fast enough.

Thanks fellas,,, your kind words mean a lot to me. I've had this Corvette body in storage a long time,,, bought it well before HPI went into trouble and their bodies became so difficult to acquire.
