So, it's Monday and I have a day off. The sun is shining and doing paperwork has lost what little appeal it had, so I ditched that idea and took my Sand Scorcher for a trip to the beach instead!
Within 30 seconds of the tires hitting the sand, I had a HUGE grin across my face and was instantly transported back in time 23 years (gulp!) to when I was 13! No thoughts of work, or commuting, family, mortgages or any of the jobs to do at home - all I could think was 'how cool does this look!'
She survived 2 runs on 3600mah Ni-hms without a scratch, the mirrors, numberplates, wipers, lights and stinger all stayed in place, so if you've got a Scorcher, stick a modern ESC and RC gear in it and get out and use it!! You might be dead next week and you won't believe the amout of joy that's derived from running an old SRB as Mr. Tamiya intended!
Comments always welcome! ;-)

She's already been hosed off (just like the old Tamiya promo pics) and is drying in the sunshine.

I decided to use stock tires for today's run - you'll also note the bumper added too as there are quite a few patches of stones - the sand paddles wouldn't have lasted long. Besides, they've been temporarily re-allocated to another project...

Pic number 4 from the top looks especially interesting- Nice write up BTW, I felt the same way after I restored my Wild One and then took it out to actually drive it- in the dirt even!!!!!!!!!
