To go with the 1:1 Lunchbox, here's what I think has to be Tamiya's inspiration for the Midnight Pumpkin!
This is the late Cliff Starbird's Frankenstein Monster Truck, one of the very early monster trucks on the scene, when Bigfoot was still becoming famous.
But unlike Bigfoot 1, which is still in show condition, this truck is parked up outside a museum in Oklahoma looking pretty sorry for itself. Maybe one day it will be restored to the condition is was back in the 80's.

That is the most similar real car 1:1 to a Tamiya I have seen well done for finding it.

:,( them last pics are depressing, its such a shame to let things sink into the ground.

i don't think your info is 100% correct. as far as i know Cliff Starbird the trucks owner is still alive. Barry Wentz one of Frankenstein's drivers has sense passed, just with in the past couple years if i remember correctly.
the current state of the truck is just depressing. about a month ago there was a video on youtube (video has sense been removed for copyright infringement) showing highlights of monster vette, frankenstein and wild stang, showing the trucks in action back in there prime, and then showing stills of the condition the trucks are in now as they sit on 'display'. it was set to the gun 'n roses song november rain. probably the most happy, sad, depressing, borderline tear jerking video iv ever seen. watching it was like sitting through a funeral. like watching them lower the casket of one of your childhood icons into the ground.

Great to see this up on TC, I actually have a couple of old video tapes with this, and the Lunchbox style monster truck Dodge van in action from the mid 80's. The inspiration for the Clod and Bullhead are also shown on the vid, just can't remember what they're called though!

Cheers! The lunchbox was based on 'Rollin' Thunder', the Clod was 'Samson 1' and the bullhead was based on 'Super Pete'
