Loves the classic Meyer Manx Beach Buggy, this is a Gas power Cox Dune Buggy from the USA, converted it to a electric powered RC buggy, in a more road going / rally format rather than the typical off roader, this is a fusion of 70s toy, M-04 Chassis and GTR-R33 modular wheels, using TamTech Gear battery and a black motor. All comments are welcome, Cheers. Update: received the prize already, Wooo Hooooo.... see related item.......

That is sweet. Nice work.

Absolutely stunning! The Cox Manx body admittedly has a nicer design than the Sand Rover, but it's your creativity and skills that have turned this into a real beauty! Simply the best-looking classic RC dune buggy I've ever seen in 30+ years in the hobby.

This is how buggies should look, good conversion. Are you going to hide the gears under a plastic engine?

Cheers for all the nice comments, it is fun to drive; very agile due to the wide track and short wheel base, integrated wheelie bar is there just in case. the bikini girl is 'Kelly Kelly' from world wrestling entertainment. Will not try to stick a fake boxer 4 or 6 engine at the back as I think the motor can and heat sink looks quite cool.

Very cool. Do I dare say looks much better than any Tamiya Sand Rover Ive seen. Possibly my favorite for this months contest.

Ahh..... can not believe it; Thank You All for voting for the beach buggies, mine is certainly not the most detailed like rad22rad_Alloys and scollins' amazing creations, nor is it as trick looking as Monty's cool Muscle Car, I just want to build something a bit different for fun, and I guess people like bikini girls!

Cheers for the comments, guess for a WWE chick; she's not too bad, and just as well; she'll need those arms for the manual (non powered) steering.

Just came across this...I'm a huge sand Rover fan and this beats them hands down. I am new to the club...if you don't mind me asking...What wheels and tires are those ?

cczoom

6-May-2017

seashadow72, Thanks for the interest after all these years... wheels are Tamiya modular for GTR R33 LM similar to Porsche 911 GT2 standard touring front and wider rear, front tyres are HPI rally super radial, whereas the rear I've forgot what it was and it hasn't got any markings on it, size is dia 75, 50 x 40mm wide.
