RTR raider with some upgrades
Just finish putting this back together and added some upgrades. got this from TC member Pepito, top fellow this, he even got me some extra like a Kyosho Race box so I can add it to my other Kyosho tool box as a set.
added Kyosho gold shocks, a LeMans 360ST and a period correct Futaba ESC, car already came with full ballraced and the Option House wheels complete with Raider Turbo's rear tires.
There appears to be a lot of hate for the Raider line in general but I had a original Raider when I was a kid, not my first RC I had mind you, but it was the very first NIB kit I bought using money that I made working, (it was the original build it yourself kit version) I remember riding my bicycle to the hobby shop with money in my pocket, I got there so early the shop were not even open yet. I waited half an hour for the shop owner to show up hoping no one has purchase it yet, the door open and there it sat on the shelf, I paid the man and got home as fast as I can with one hand on the handle bar and the other holding my brand new kit. The very first time you open that box was magic, with all that fresh plastics pieces on their tree and in clear bags, the blister pack of metal parts and a new LeMans 05 seal can motor...... I spend that afternoon putting it together and by night time I was driving it in the living room in my parent's house. At that moment it was the best car in the world, four wheel independence suspension, aggressive knobby tires, adjustable spring preload shocks, wide stance and a sleek body....... this is of cause laughable now with kits that are mostly prebuild and a lot of cars comes with fancy carbon this and titanium that on it, I think we get kind of jaded now, I go to hobby shop now and see these kids with their parents buying cars with mom's money and but he'll wants the very best and latest technology because his buddy at school has one he wouldn't caught dead with a beginner's car at the track. This just seems unreal to me, back when I was a kid I would ride my bicycle with a backpack full of gears to the local school's baseball field, I would have my freshly build Raider with it's LeMans o5 stock motor and exactly two packs of very old 1200mah pack that I kept charging one after another and spend the whole sunday afternoon there until the sun goes down, and I would go home and clean everything till its spot-less and ready for action when school's out the next day, back then RC10s and Yokomo were as exotic as it gets, never would I drag my parent to the hobby shop to buy these cars, but now a days there are RC10s and Yokomo in my house but they sit on the shelf, but it's the Raider that put the smile on my face only now I uses the car or the motorcycle to get me to the baseball field.
