Well bought this last week from fellow member Sparkie, been looking for a while now. it was a dry build shelf queen, but thats not for me ! tires were perished along with every other bit of rubber on the car. I have stripped the car down bead blasted the diecast parts, fitted a Tamiya ball diff (fantastc bit of kit) and locktited everything. Thrown out the mechanical speedo after it started to glow :-) and stuck an esc in it, I have got to say now this is one of my favourite models now, looking for a lipo to go in there as the Nimh run forever but lack the punch of a nicad or lipo. The rear suspension on this car works so well and is so active so nice just to watch those wheels soaking up the bumps, I was not so sure about the black colour at first as most of them are blue, but now I think its cool :-)

Very nice looking ride. It would really be sweet with a set of loaded's carbon fiber chassis plates. Nice work

slimmy been thinking about it, and brushless, sure the gearbox could take it, looks like this gearbox can take a modern 540 size motor not like the early Rough Rider that had to take a small can 540.

I like the black. It goes well with the decals & red roll bar. The original blue is also nice but I get a bit sick of seeing them all that colour. You have done a nice job, a clean example.

Beautiful car, I'm hoping to get one, one day. The suspension is one thing letting down the SS and BC. I've just finished my SS chassis, wish I could could of bead blasted it. I might contact you when I start the next SRB on my list. Let us know how you get on with the lipo. Great car.. into my favorites.

Black is cool !!
i bought a black shelfer that has never been run..bought it about 3 years ago i think. It now has flat spots on the tyres and i think you have inspired me to do the same...yes they are great to look at but even better to use !!!!!
great car mate look after it.

j-man do it ! its so sad to leave them on the shelf, they come alive when you run them and if you are carefull they look just as good after running and will leave you with a big smile on your face !

I will do it ,after all i'm a collector and not an invester.
i think i will put some plastic protection underneath the chassis as i hate to see the dreaded scratches.
superchamp rules!!

j-man chassis is fine if you just run on grass, If your worried just tape up the chassis when you run it.
