One upon a time, I fell in love with Tamiya kits, especially with the Hot Shot II which (after long months of desperate longing) I got for Christmas. Once completed, the car suffered a lot of insane bashing because I wanted to keep up with my friends who had two Hornets. Due to budgetary limitations on my side and to my parents’ unwillingness to pay all the spare parts needed, I finally had to give up the car. And I slowly forgot it — as well as all the other non RC-Tamiya-kits I had built: Porsche 934 Jägermeister, Lotus Type 78, Tyrell P34 …

25 years later, last autumn, after many efforts for seriously growing up, I relapsed. My son had discovered the magic of RC-cars and so I got into it once again. After long months of desperate longing I finally got a Tamiya Neo Fighter for Christmas (this time, it was me who had to pay the bill!) and I joined forces with a good friend whose passion for this hobby had hibernated as long as mine. Since then, we reanimated not only a Mercedes TA-02 but also the Super Hornet you can see here.

Now, Super Hornet and Neo Fighter share the same track. And both cars — representing two different eras of Tamiya — go very well (the veteran hopping cheerfully in his typical manner). Then and now, the same old pleasure.
