I built this right after they came out with the DMD unit. Lots of miles on this one, I weathered it with some of my artists oil paints, chalk, graphite, etc. Found the 75mm barrel on ebay. Took the pictures on Sherman Hill which is near my home.

Very appropriate location. Good to see a Sherman nicely weathered. Nice job!

i like them better with this barrel, do you have all the options in this one, cannon, machine guns, and lights?

No this re-re is like the old old Tamiya Sherman and had none of the sound light options just a basic DMD unit to control two motors instead of the original clutch system but it does have metal tracks unlike the later re-re. I do have the optional turret rotation unit but I haven't installed it yet 10 years later lol! Maybe I'll do that this summer.

ha ha, i know the feeling. the options unit is really cool, it is amazingly loud and really nails the sound of the different engines on these tanks. i never thought i would like a model with sound, but know i love it, really completes the scaleness. the metal tracks are really cool too, make it heavier and more scale, plus it clanks across hard surfaces like a real tank.

I built a Tiger I for a guy and the sound was amazing, I like the tanks with sound a lot but the sound in the high-lift trucks gets old very quickly as they are to loud and redneck sounding, the tanks just sound perfect and scale

the trucks were the turn off for me, so that is probably what was stuck in my head, but it really makes the tanks come to life. i will get some video of mine running, pretty awesome. does this one say 'tamiya 1974' under the main upper body?
