This is 1 one 4 prototype cars built by Masami Hirosaka`s father for ABC. The car is way over engineered and features only a few ABC parts. The front bulkheads, ”A” arms and rear motor mount are stock pieces. Everything else is either hand made. The front shocks are simple friction style made from tubes rigged up with ball ends.
I got this car from the hobby shop I used to work at. The guy I replaced owned the car but forgot it when he left. I found it while I was cleaning up one day in a plastic bag just kind of dis guarded. When I decided to leave the hobby shop the owner of the car told me I could have it, as he understood how terrible it was to work there.
I got it home and cleaned it up as the whole car had a layer of nicotine over it.
I contacted ABC about the car and they gave me a bit more info. They have one at ABC but it is missing a few more parts than mine is so I think I have the most complete one out there is the other 2 are still out there.
I really need an M&Y motor for this as the Race Prep I put in there was just for fun. Over time this will get the correct speed control and other electronics to make it back to the way it was in the 80s.

So much carbon for 1985 Front suspension has a lot of parts Hand made front shocks Rear pod has a whole lot of parts Rear pod uses a rolling shock type set up

Nice one there Ivan, it's great to see these rare finds being looked after. To think there was a chance that this would have just ended up in the bin I just love the old Japanese 1/12ths, it is amazing how complex Japanese companies made their 1/12ths in the 80s, they are amazing marvels of engineering.

I am really lucky to have this. The whole chassis is just crazy. I wonder how a good driver could do against the modern cars with it? Thanks aTerry for the advise about the servo saver. I was for this car.

Wow! What an amazing chassis - so complex. And to think that it is mostly hand-made. Somebody had great engineering skills.
