Hello,
This one received a slight restoration, fullbearings and red plastic parts were dyed black.
I really don't like the box art on this one, so I went again with this paintscheme I really like, adapting it to this shell. By the way, this one could be called the Beetlelover's special as the driver head, FAV front and rear lights and bodyshell and roof all come from him. Very nice parts, except that the bodyshell and roof are a bit smaller than the original, but nothing to worry about.
The rims are from the infamous CTY300, and I must say they are just plain gorgeous.
Well, what else can I say, it's been a pleasure working on this one, and I hope you'll like it too.
Enjoy!

Straight to my favourites (it will be the 7th of your cars on my list)! What's the story behind the animal on the roof?

27-Jan-2010

Possibly the nicest Wild One I have seen. Thanks for sharing!

Stunning buggy, as with most Tamiya buggies a slight departure from the box art can really make them pop! Nice work

OH MY GOD.... This is awesome. With all the Re-Re's coming about lately I so, so want them to release the Wild One. This is in my opinion the best of the scale looking off roaders. Your attention to detail and presentation Sayroll is exemplary. Another one in my favourites!

Wow, piece of art as usual! But whats up with the baby giraffe on the roof??

Sayroll

27-Jan-2010

Thanks for you appreciation!
Indeed, that's a girafe, not a bambi...Well, I have a 3 1/2 year old daughter, and she's starting to want to work on my cars with me (yesterday she drew her first car, a police one!), so some compromises have to be found to secure peace and calm in the family if you see what I mean Well, to be perfectly honest, I actually think that this little animal feels quite in its right place sitting on that roof...

Your buggies and photography are top notch Mate.

I really like how you paint your pilots! It looks like it's inspired by 'la ligne claire' de Hergé (Tintin). Or is it Manga? In any way... I'm absolutely fond of your style. And that’s an understatement!

Another cracker.....quiet for so long and then ka-boom, so many fantastic cars posted over the last few days! Why don't you glue the giraffe to the front of the bonnet, akin to the Flying Lady on a Rolls Royce?

very nice Wild One, i love it. How did you dye the plastic parts from red to black???

Sayroll

27-Jan-2010

Thanks boys!
@Goldbest: I have no particular inspiration for the pilots, I just paint them the best I can
@Nigel: I could have placed the giraffe like the Spirit of extasy, but my daughter really believed it looked better on the roof, and I quite agree with her.
@Paulos29: I simply used black dye.

Beautiful work! I'm selling my vintage Fox so I can get one of these and yours will serve as some inspiration. As far as scale r/c cars go, this one was WELL ahead of its time.

Absolutely beautiful. Love the use of FAV rear lights, suits it. Mite do the same with one of the two I've got one the way.
